My posting media has decided not to work lately, so my posts from my phone haven’t been coming through.  Here are a few of those pictures that I haven’t been able to get through.

Pretty girl with her ponies (pigtails).

Amelia's friends Piper and Natalie let her borrow their kitchen until they are old enough to use it. Amelia told me that she was making macaroni and pancakes.

I made blueberry muffins one day, and Amelia wanted to help. So she stirred for me.

I recentely reintroduced markers to Amelia. She seems to have really grasped the concept this time around, and only colors on the paper!

Having fun in her pool.

My wildcat girl! Every time she sees a Powercat, she yells "Go Wildcats!"

Aunt Deedee was in town a week or so ago, and we went to the mall. Amelia saw the merry-go-round and HAD to ride it. She had fun.

The weather finally cooled off a bit, and Amelia and I headed back to the Deanna Rose Farmstead. There is a little playground that she likes to play on.

Amelia likes the ducks. She enjoying watching them swim and listening to them quack.

Ice cream!

Aunt Lynn made fresh ice cream and Amelia says “tank yew” for some of it.

Edited by Jessica:  Aunt Lynn totally set me up!  We went by her house to say hi, and she was making ice cream.  Amelia toddled off behind Aunt Lynn as she was taking the ice cream out of the maker, while Wes, Katelyn and I stayed in the living room chatting with Rebecca.  Soon, Amelia came back into the living room, clutching a bowl of ice cream to her chest, grinning wildly.  I asked what was in the bowl, and she smiled “ice cream!”.  I steered her to the kitchen table, and Aunt Lynn professed her innocence, telling me that she told Amelia she had to ask me before she could eat the ice cream.  Like I could say no to that smile! :)

Almost 23 months old…that means almost 2 years old!

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve done an actual update for Miss A.  She’s been so much fun these past few months.  Her personality has decided to come out in full force and keep her daddy and me on our toes!

Her vocabulary continues to amaze us.  Her favorite phrase right now is “Holy cow!”.  In Amelia words, it comes out sounding like “Hody tow (like in tower)!”  It cracks me up.  She routinely uses 5, 6, and 7 word sentences.  She is able to tell us what she wants and communicate appropriately.  It makes our lives so much easier, and I think it’s why she is a pretty even-tempered child.

She is now able to count to 10, which is almost unbelievable.  She doesn’t really count things yet, past one or two, but knows the numbers up to 10 in sequence.  She also is able to recognize all 26 capital letters, and knows the sounds they make.

We are very slowly introducing potty training.  There have been a few times that she has pottied in her potty chair, but she really doesn’t seem interested in it.  She’s becoming more and more familiar with when she needs her diaper changed, so we are just going at her pace and letting her guide us.

Amelia is such a happy little girl.  She’s definitely a mama’s girl, and it tends to put her out of sorts if I’m not readily available, but does very well at her Mom’s Day Out program.  She loves to sing, loves to dance, and LOVES to read books.  She often will grab a book and a blanket, climb up into a chair, and read her book.  There are days that she will bring me 20 different books to read.  I love it!

Every little girl needs a pair of leopard print slippers while riding her John Deere Tractor, don't you think?

Out of the box...

"Close, mommy!"

When did she get so grown up??

Amelia’s crazy ponytails
Please excuse the poor quality of the picture.  Amelia isn’t really a big fan of standing still!  I think she looks adorable with ponytails in her hair, and it helps to keep her hair out of her face.  However, she spent the entire time I was trying to comb her hair yelling “No thank you ponies!  No thank you ponies!!!”.

I have lots more to post about Amelia’s current funny sayings and things that she does, but it will have to wait for another evening.  Hopefully by this weekend I’ll get an update post out.

Pool

I stepped outside after dinner tonight to shake out the mat under Amelia’s high chair.  Amelia came outside with me and made a beeline for the pool, recently filled by the rain.  She was having so much fun that I let her play a few minutes, even though she needed to be getting ready for bed.
